 Simonson Farms Christmas Trees

Contact: Rodger and Sam Jany

Rodger graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2002 with a BS in Crop and Soil Environmental Science.  This year he and his wife Sam became partners in the tree farm and moved up to Cranbury to live on the farm and manage the trees. We are excited that the new generation of "Simonson's" are now active in the tree operations.

Contact: Jim and Carol (Simonson) Applegate

During the tree season, Jim manages our U-cut field on Dey Road, and Carol helps oversee the wreath operation, as well as keeping all the hungry hands on our work crew well-fed.

Contact: Steve and Marty (Simonson) Jany

A grain farmer year-round, in December Steve oversees the field cutting of trees for our fresh-cut yard. Marty manages the Christmas Shoppe, and (together with her sister Carol) keeps the hungry hordes from mutinying.

Contact: Katie (Applegate), Ben, Taylor, Ashley and Mia Bobowski

Although living farther away than any others (in Deer Lodge, MT), Kate and Ben (Chief of Natural Resources at Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site) are always around for a substantial part of the tree season, helping make and decorate all of the wreaths, and managing the fresh-cut yard and Christmas Shoppe on weekdays. This year Taylor (currently 10 1/2) will  be a big help on the sales force, and Ashley (currently 7) will be right there with him. Their newest addition, Mia, will also be present.

Contact: Jeff Applegate

One of the commuters, Jeff's acting career frequently takes him around the country performing on stage and in film.  When not filming or performing abroad, Jeff helps with wreath making and decorating, as well as managing the fresh-cut yard during the week and on weekends.

Contact: Jodi (Applegate) Casey, and Sophia Stemler

The Stemler Family moved this year to Littleton Colorado.  They plan to return to help on the farm close to the Christmas holiday.

Contact: Tim Jany

The youngest (well, except for Taylor and Ashley!) of the Christmas Tree Clan, Tim graduated in June from Massachusetts Maritime Academy.  He is currently an engineer on an asphalt ship.  If we're lucky we'll see him in December.  Otherwise he'll be in some port in the Atlantic or at sea.
